PHOTOGRAPHY AND CHANCE FINDINGS
`Chance` findings relate to objects, the `involuntary` sculptures I spontaneously discover by `accident`.
Having researched psychogeography and the idea of the derive, I have concluded that my way of walking and working has more to do with spontaneity rather than how the flâneur walks in aimless strolls.
What interests me about everyday `found` objects is that they are involuntary. Unlike conventional sculptures there is absolutely no thought process in the making, the unpredictable is in the outcome!  A piece of cellophane tied with a piece of cotton thrown to the ground looking  like a delicate misshapen bow against a grid like surface, or a crushed sandwich packet unintentionally resembling a paper aeroplane.
I have had conversations with viewers and neighbours regarding the simplicity of the ordinary, thrown out, kicked about objects that we see on our city streets; and how I have transformed them into offbeat involuntary photographic  sculptures not  to be overlooked, but noticed in a new light.
